Workshop – Utilization Log Scaling (2 Parts)

This two part workshop will be presented by Rick Cunningham and Dennis Lorenzo, USFS check scalers.  They will present basic log scaling principles and techniques and discuss log defect and grading rules.  This workshop is intended for timber fallers, landing chasers, loader operators, choker setters, foresters, truck drivers and bull bucks who want to make sure they are optimizing log scale and getting the right log to the mill.

Licensed Timber Operator Training Class

This is the standard Licensed Timber Operations Training class provided by Cal Fire, which is typically offered three times a year in various locations.  The class consists of two (2) eight-hour days.  Attendance of both class sessions is mandatory.  Class materials provided will be 30hole punched.  Please bring a binder in addition to writing utensils, highlighter’s, and post-it notes.

Fireline Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors

This safety training class will allow attendees to receive an “Interagency Emergency Equipment Operator Card” issued by Cal Fire and US Forest Service through the State Fire Marshalls Office.  When properly equipped, persons with the “Vendor Card” can work on fires under Cal Fire or Forest Service command.
