Forest Health DRAFT Grant Guidelines Posted

Dear Forest Health Partners,

We are writing to inform you that the CAL FIRE Forest Health Program guidelines have been posted for public comment and are now available on the Forest Health website. These draft guidelines describe proposed eligibility, application requirements, and processes for the upcoming grant cycle. The solicitation is anticipated to open at the beginning of March.

Please note the following significant changes for this cycle:

·    Two funding solicitations will run simultaneously. The Forest Health Program is offering funding through both the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) and Proposition 4 (California Climate Bond). Applicants seeking consideration for both funding sources will be required to submit separate applications for each funding source.

·    A two-step application process will be implemented for this solicitation. Applicants will first submit a concept proposal, and the most competitive proposals will be invited to submit a full application during the second phase.

We encourage interested parties to review the draft guidelines and submit comments during the public comment period which begins today. Feedback received will help inform final program guidelines prior to the solicitation opening.

Please submit all comments to ForestHealth@fire.ca.gov  by February 24, 2026.

He owned and managed “Craig Hansen Insurance.”

Craig Hansen handled “logging related” insurance for many ACL members and others in the timber community in and near the city of Eureka where he was based. He was a prominent member of the community. And a major supporter of Associated California Loggers.

Craig would attend the Annual Associated California Loggers North Coast Chapter Christmas Party every year. Craig also supported the statewide ACL Association by attending our Annual Meeting in Reno (at a great distance from Eureka), sponsoring the Annual Meeting, and participating in our Live and Silent Auction at the Annual Meeting.

Craig was a big supporter of the Associated California Loggers “children’s charity” – “Log a Load for Kids,” which raises money to purchase medical equipment to treat children and babies with cancer, heart ailments, and other medical problems.

At the time of this posting, Associated California Loggers does not have information on the date on which Craig Hansen passed , or his obituary. But we do have information on his upcoming October 25 Memorial Service and Celebration of Life, and we wanted to get that information out to our members and friends as soon as possible:
