EDITOR’S NOTE:
The message below from Lisa Hoveman of Shasta College was sent to the ACL office, and we are passing it on to you. There are some acronyms to learn: “CRAFT” means “California Registered Apprenticeship Forest Training” ACL Executive Director Eric Carleson is on the CRAFT steering committee. Shasta College writes, “CRAFT was designed by the logging industry for the logging industry. This registered Apprenticeship program is for those who see themselves working outside amongst the trees and mountains for a hard working tight knit industry.”
Meanwhile, “HELO” means “Heavy Equipment Logging Operations,” and is run by Shasta College as a certificated “pre-apprenticeship.” The foundational skills and knowledge gained through HELO, prepares students to enter directly into CRAFT and continue building their logging career as a registered apprentice.”
WITH THE BACKGROUND ABOVE, PLEASE READ THIS OFFER BELOW:
