The Grizzly Flat Cull Deck Removal Project, located within the Eldorado National Forest (ENF), is the first initial project under GSNR’s broader Pilot Biomass Transport Project to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health by facilitating the transport of previously felled, unmerchantable woody biomass to productive end-use facilities. Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this initial project will support the removal and hauling of an estimated 21,773 Green Tons (GT) of decked biomass currently located within the Eldorado National Forest to designated end-users identified by the successful bidder. No cutting or harvesting is involved.

The Request for Bid (RFB) for GSNR’s No. 2025-01-GSNR-GF – Grizzly Flat Cull Deck Removal Project is now closed. GSNR originally released the RFB on July 21, 2025 (see original RFB here). Based on feedback received, an amended RFB was released on August 15, 2025 and closed on August 29, 2025 (see amended RFB here).
GSNR, in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service, conducted the evaluation period beginning September 1, 2025, including a joint evaluation meeting on September 10, 2025, to review all timely and compliant bids. Upon review and evaluation of all bids, GSNR has determined the apparent successful bidder is Tuolumne Biomass, LLC. See further details in the Award Announcement below.
