Associated California Loggers is proud to announce its two LUNCHEON KEYNOTE SPEAKERS for the 2026 Annual Meeting:
THURSDAY, JANUARY 15 AT NOON: STEVE COURTNEY OF OREGON
Steve Courtney joined the Beck Group Consulting company in Oregon after a nearly 30-year career in the forest products industry in the US West. He has worked with Roseburg Forest Products, International Forest Products, and Sierra Pacific Industries. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from National University.
Steve will cover, at a minimum, the following topics:
- Overview of North American wood products industry
- Wood products market drivers and how they are impacting current markets
- Issues for wood products manufacturers and facility closures
- Areas of opportunity , particularly in California
FRIDAY, JANUARY 16 AT NOON: RICHARD SCHWAB OF FLORIDA
Richard Schwab hails from the State of Florida. He is a Florida native, a third-generation logger, and has worked in the forest industry for over 27 years. Schwab is the Vice President of his family’s business M.A. Rigoni, a Florida logging company. He is a Past President of the American Loggers Council and “on track” to return to the Presidency there in a few years. Richard also serves with the Southeastern Wood Producers Association, the Florida Forestry Association, and the Forest Resources Association.
While Richard has plenty of experience and expertise in logging (the Wall Street Journal once wrote an article about logging in the Southeast featuring him) Richard is known to many of us at ACL as an energized, funny, and very inspirational person who is set to transfer his personality into a luncheon keynote address that will inspire you as a spiritual matter and likely make you laugh in the process. We want you to meet Richard Schwab. We think Richard will bring the 2026 Annual Meeting to a fantastic close and we invite you to hear him speak.
