Hello to future employers and whomever it may concern, My name is Matther Snarr, and i am a recent graduate of the Central Valley Forestry Corps.
For those of you are not aware of the organization and what a big accomplishment that is ill take a brief moment to explain the program and the education ive gained from it.
Reedley College, The Workforce Connection, Associated California Loggers, CAL FIRE, and the USDA funded a group of individuals to take a series of classes to to gain 13 certificates and prepare us for careers in land management, fuels reduction and Fire suppression. 5 days a week we were in class or in the field learning to identify hazards and ways to manage overgrown and unhealthy forests in california. 10 hours a day 5 days a week. I held a full time job the entire time I was in the course, running on 3 hours of sleep 3 out of the 5 days I was in class.
i Love the forest and worked for CAL FIRE for 4 years up in Redding, on a fuels reduction/ fire and crew. I learned to cut down trees, burn piles and fight fires while there, but I was never taught why we did what we did. in the course I was and it makes it all the more interesting. I hope that now that I am out I can use my education and passion for the forest to find gainful employment cutting trees and milling timber.
America has vast amounts of trees in its country, but we are the leading importer of foreign timber. I think if we had more people like myself in our industry with a passion and an opportunity to work in this field we could lower the rate of imports and buy american. so now you know a little bit about myself and the accomplishments i have, please reach out to me i would love to send you my resume and see what your company has to offer and what i could do to add to the value of an organization that is looking for a hard working, innovative, passionate, trustworthy individual.
With Sincerity,
Matthew Snarr
