In perhaps the most surprising outcome of the 2024 Annual Meeting, Californian Mike Albrecht of Jamestown was re-elected to a SECOND one-year term as the national President of the American Loggers Council.
Currently, Presidents of the national American Loggers Council only serve one-year terms. (By comparison, Presidents of Associated California Loggers serve two-year terms.)
However, the “approved candidate” to be elected President for 2024-2025 (the First Vice President) was ALSO elected recently as the sheriff of his parish in Louisiana and could not accept the nomination as President of the American Loggers Council.
Consequently, after national Board discussion and the offering of the floor to other candidates(none were offered), it was decided to nominate current President Mike Albrecht for election for “one more one-year term” as the President of the American Loggers Council. Mike was then so elected as the 2024-2025 President of the American Loggers Council.
In remarks, newly re-elected ALC President Albrecht said that there would NOT be another Annual Meeting of the American Loggers Council in the fall of 2025 in California. “Once was enough” (the 2024 American Loggers Council Annual Meeting) given the scale of work involved and the participation of loggers from California and all over the United States as offered via attendance, sponsorships, auction item donation and auction bids at last week’s ALC Annual Meeting. Mike is very grateful for everyone’s support last week.
ALC President Albrecht said that he would confer in the future with ALC Executive Director Scott Dane and the entire Board of the American Loggers Council to determine what to do “in lieu of” an Annual Meeting in California in the fall of 2025, fall being when the Annual Meeting traditionally takes place.
Associated California Loggers proudly congratulates Mike Albrecht on his re-election as the President of the American Loggers Council!
