The California logging community and the timber industry in general have lost an honored member: Buzz Eades. Buzz passed away on November 25, 2017. His services will be at the Redding First Church of the Nazarene on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 11:00 am.
Many in the Associated California Loggers community knew Buzz Eades as a logger, for decades. Buzz was a past President of the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference, and a past President of the Pacific Logging Congress.
In recent years, Buzz was the Executive Director of the Loggers Association of Northern California(LANC). In that role, Buzz participated in a leadership position on the Joint Governmental Affairs Committee(consisting of Associated California Loggers, the Loggers Association of Northern California, and the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference), and also participated in conference calls of the Associated California Loggers Federal Working Group, every two weeks. Buzz participated in these phone calls well into the final weeks of his illness. He was involved for his community and his industry right up to the end.
Here are two announcements:
ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE PASSING OF BUZZ EADES, FROM HIS WIFE MURIEL, DATED SATURDAY NOVEMBER 25, 2017
Dear friends and family,
I want to let you know that Buzz left us for a better place at 5:20 AM today. He has been fighting a battle with myeloma and kidney failure since March. He felt that he would win but has been suffering with severe pain and other related health issues. Our family believes that absent from the body, present with the Lord. We are assured because of our belief in Jesus we will be reunited. Buzz has been a hero to all of us these past months. His doctors and nurses loved him. He did not complain and shared his faith.
Thank you for your love and friendship.
Muriel Eades
