PART TWO:
A NATIONAL FORESTRY ORGANIZATION ASKS FOUR QUESTIONS REGARDING–
“HOW IS THIS PROGRAM WORKING FOR LOGGING COMPANIES?”
Associated California Loggers has alerted its members to “SOPI” extensions being offered by the US Forest Service on certain contracts in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Some of you may have already heard of these extensions being offered; others of you may be working on seeking the extensions in the future , or working with companies that are seeking the extensions.
TO ALL ACL MEMBERS AND OTHERS, ACL WISHES TO PASS ALONG THESE QUESTIONS FROM THE WASHINGTON DC-BASED “FEDERAL FOREST RESOURCE COALITION “(FFRC), OF WHICH ACL IS A MEMBER AND WHOSE MANAGEMENT ARE SEEKING RESPONSES TO “HELP FFRC HELP ASSOCIATED CALIFORNIA LOGGERS”:
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
Begin:
ONE: Are your members receiving these SOPI extensions?
TWO: Are you hearing concerns about the MRCTA’s subtracting from the 2 year time frame provided by the SOPI?
THREE: Are they asking about whether they can reduce down payments even if they aren’t eligible for more time?
FOUR: In general, are they complaining about FS responsiveness or unwillingness to provide extensions, or are they more or less getting through them in short order?
End
ACL’S REQUEST TO YOU:
If you can provide answers to the four questions above relating to “SOPI extensions,” please contact the ACL office at 916-441-7940 or send an e-mail to ecarleson@calog.com (ACL Executive Director Eric Carleson.)
You may have these answers right away, or next week — or weeks from now. But please contact ACL with the answers if and when you can.
Thank you!
