For the second year in a row, the community of Loyalton in the beautiful Sierra Valley is holding its Second Annual “Timberfest,” once held regularly years ago and now revived. Everyone is welcome!
The two-day event will be held right off of Highway 49 in Loyalton.
A message from the Sierra Timberfest organizers:
BEGIN:
Sierra Timberfest is a family oriented annual event celebrating and providing education about the timber industry. We had so much fun at Sierra Timberfest 2022 that we decided to have this year’s event take place over two days instead of one!
FRIDAY MAY 5: Logger sports competitions begin at 1:00 pm. There will be several prequalifying logger sports events and then move right into competitions! We’ll round out the evening with a live band next door to the competition arena!
SATURDAY MAY 6 kicks off with a parade at 9 am featuring historical and state of the art logging trucks and equipment. Competitions immediately follow at 10:00 am. This will be a FULL day of competitions followed by an awards ceremony!
This is a celebration of the Sierra Nevada’s very rich timber industry! As in years past, Sierra Timberfest’s focus is celebrating forest management and forest products education with the highlight being an American Lumberjack Association sanctioned timbersports competition! We’ve attracted the top timbersports athletes who are really looking forward to the expanded competition arena. In response to local commentary, we’ve added a LOCALS hot saw event.
We’ve received several hundred inquiries from people all over the pacific northwest and anticipate a few thousand people attending!
Our roots are deep here in the City of Loyalton, which benefits by hosting the event. The glorious Sierra Valley region receives recognition as well, since Sierra Timberfest brings awareness by emphasizing the critical role that forest management provides in the health of our forests.
THIS YEAR, we’re proud to be awarding SCHOLARSHIPS to Plumas Sierra Joint Unified School District High School graduates who will be pursuing education and/or career opportunities in the timber industry.
As a registered 501 c 3 nonprofit, this event is produced by a very small team of volunteers that grows during show time by an additional 40+ volunteers who work their best to execute this great community event. We’re seeking sponsorships that will help us to cover the production costs of this great family friendly event and help support our educational outreach efforts in the regional community!
We ask that you partner with us and in exchange we will proudly post your logo on our website as a sponsor and announce your sponsorship multiple times during the 2 day event. We also have an option for your business banner to be hung in the timbersports arena! We hope you’ll join us!
