“EDITOR’S NOTE FROM ASSOCIATED CALIFORNIA LOGGERS”:
One of the three requirements to obtain an LTO license is to take a required 2-day class. Recently, these LTO classes have been split among at least TWO entities for the teaching:
ONE: Shasta Community College in Redding
TWO: CAL FIRE
The message below, about an upcoming two-day LTO class on September 25 and 26, is being “forwarded” by Shasta College from CALFIRE. As the Shasta College person writes below “This e-mail message is being forwarded on behalf of CAL FIRE. This completely separate from Shasta College and our LTO schedule.”
ACTION SUGGESTED:
We hear that these LTO classes “fill up fast,” sometimes within an hour of being posted. Still, we recommend that you keep the names and information below at hand so that you can access information about these classes — whether taught by Shasta College or by CAL FIRE — ahead of such classes being given.
ACL will continue to monitor these classes and talk to both Shasta College and CAL FIRE about improving access to them.
