Last week, from Tuesday October 1 through Friday night October 4, the national American Loggers Council held its 2024 Annual Meeting in Sonora, California.
Here are FOUR highlights from the event:
ONE: RECORDS SET AT THE 2024 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMIERCAN LOGGERS COUNCIL
Word is that records were set:
Highest attendance for an Annual Meeting of the American Loggers Council.
Largest amount of sponsorship donations for an Annual Meeting of the American Loggers Council.
Highest amount ever raised for the “Log-a-Load for Kids” Live and Silent Auction at the Annual Meeting of the American Loggers Council (see below.)
TWO: HIGHEST AMOUNT EVER RAISED BY THE “LOG-A-LOAD FOR KIDS” LIVE AND SILENT AUCTION AT AN ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMERICAN LOGGERS COUNCIL – ALL PROCEEDS TO CALIFORNIA (UC DAVIS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL)
Highest amount ever raised for the “Log-a-Load for Kids” Live and Silent Auction at the American Loggers Council (under the policy of the American Loggers Council, all proceeds go to the Log-a-Load for Kids charity in the home state of the President –so, for this year, those proceeds go to California Log-a-Load for Kids.)
Please note: Several years ago, the American Loggers Council volunteered to take on the administration of the national Log-a-Load for Kids program and implemented the “President’s Home State” policy for the giving of auction proceeds to the charity in that state.
THREE: ASSOCIATED CALIFORNIA LOGGERS PRESIDENT RUSS HAWKINS WAS A KEY SUPERVISOR OF THE 2024 AMERICAN LOGGERS COUNCIL AUCTION.
ALC Executive Director Scott Dane requested the help of ACL President Russ Hawkins to use his expertise in auctions so as to put on the best possible “national auction in California.” The results spoke for themselves. Russ was assisted by his wife Helen Hawkins, his son Hunter Hawkins, and his daughter-in-law Kolbie Hawkins in putting on the auction, along with Lisa Medici, California Chair of Log-a-Load for Kids, and both the national Log-a-Load team and the “incoming new California team” for Log-a-Load for Kids (see below.)
FOUR: SPECIAL PRESENTATION: LISA MEDICI RETIRES AS LOG-A-LOAD FOR KIDS CHAIR AFTER 25 YEARS AND IS HONORED FOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN CALIFORNIA AND AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL
American Loggers Council Executive Director Scott Dane and Associated California Loggers Executive Director Eric Carleson combined to present Lisa Medici with an award reflecting her retirement – after 25 years! – as the California Chair of Log-a-Load for Kids.
Lisa was presented with a plaque from the American Loggers Council honoring Lisa for “25 years as Log-a-Load for Kids Chair,” 2 years as the national Chair of Log-a-Load for Kids, and 4 years as the national Secretary Treasurer of Log-a-Load for Kids,” as well as her service to the American Loggers Council.
Lisa was also honored with a plaque from “National Log-a-Load for Kids” for her service to the organization over these 25 years.
Lisa told attendees that the mother-daughter team of Liz Headrick and Kaitlyn Rhoades worked on tonight’s auction and would take over Log-a-Load for Kids in California going forward. (But Lisa will also be honored at the 2025 Annual Meeting of Associated California Loggers!)
